When a marriage ends, a custody schedule stops working, or a child needs a guardian, you need someone who handles these cases every week. Jared DeSilvey has represented Oklahoma families since 1997, and he meets clients at our Tahlequah office at 205 W. Shawnee St.

Family cases are personal, and they move on the court’s schedule, not yours. Jared DeSilvey has represented individuals and families in Oklahoma courts since 1997. He is a Certified Mediator and a Certified Guardian Ad Litem, has served as pro bono counsel for deprived children, and in 2026 was elected President of the Muskogee Bar Association by Muskogee County attorneys.
He works from Green Country Law Group’s Tahlequah office at 205 W. Shawnee St. and our Muskogee office.
Most family cases for Tahlequah residents are filed in the Cherokee County District Court. Depending on the family and the issue, some matters involving tribal citizens may belong in a tribal court instead. Jared is admitted in Oklahoma’s state courts and in the Cherokee Nation, Muscogee (Creek) Nation, and Chickasaw Nation tribal courts, as well as all three federal district courts in Oklahoma and the Tenth Circuit, so we can tell you where your case belongs before anything is filed.
Jared DeSilvey handles family law for clients of our Tahlequah office: divorce, custody and visitation, child support, dividing property and debts, paternity, adoption, guardianship, and changing or enforcing existing orders. He earned his J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1996 and was admitted to the Oklahoma bar in 1997.
Clients of our Broken Arrow office can also work with Clinton N. Patterson, whose practice includes family law. Green Country Law Group has four offices: Tahlequah, Muskogee, Broken Arrow, and Norman.

Sometimes. It depends on the family, the child, and the issue. Jared is admitted in the Cherokee Nation, Muscogee (Creek) Nation, and Chickasaw Nation tribal courts as well as Oklahoma’s state courts, so we can tell you which court your case belongs in before anything is filed.
Often, yes, when circumstances have changed since the order was entered. We look at your current order and what has changed, and tell you whether a modification is worth pursuing.
Any court papers you have been served with, existing custody or support orders, and basic financial information such as recent pay stubs and tax returns. If you are not sure, bring it.
